Upcoming Events

Explore upcoming events designed to support our members in raising the standards of public minerals reporting across the industry.

Our member events provide insight, peer connection, and critical discussions - all aimed at improving the quality and integrity of minerals reporting.

MRA membership is required to register and attend.

Concept Forum 2:

“The Use and Abuse of Metal Equivalents.”

In 2019, Geologists Steve Rose and Gerry Fahey, then working at consultancy CSA Global, authored a paper on the use of Metal Equivalents in public announcements.

Metal Equivalents provide a useful and concise indication of the value of mineralisation that contains more than one valuable metal or minerals. With the increasing importance of exotic metals in daily use, as critical or energy transition metals, usage of equivalence can become problematic, and in some cases misleading.

Steve and Gerry have offered to revisit their paper, including covering calculation, shortcomings, and reporting requirements under JORC 2012.

We encourage your attendance at the private dining room at the Mayfair pub, 25 June 5pm and look forward to hearing your experiences and inputs to this “valuable” topic.

Concept Forum 1: May 2025

“How to Evaluate Junior Exploration Results: Separating Near Misses from Target Killers.”

MRA welcomes leading exploration strategist Jon Hronsky as he challenges how we interpret early-stage results.

We’ll unpack spatial context, sampling bias, false positives, and misleading analogies and then work together to define how to improve communication of uncertainty and geological context in public reports.

Date: 28th May 2025

Peer Review Circles

Peer Review Circles are small-group, facilitated sessions where MRA members review real public minerals reports across global codes.

Designed to strengthen professional judgment and disclosure quality, these confidential discussions offer a space to test ideas, challenge assumptions, and learn from diverse peer perspectives.

Each cohort meets regularly with a focus on improving both individual competency and industry standards.
